Could you use a eucalyptus tree

We have a eucalyptus tree in our garden in Kingswells that has sadly fallen over, initially due to the high winds in Dec/Jan, but yesterday it finally came to rest on its side due to the weight of the snow. We will have to dispose of the tree now but wondered if anyone would be interested in the wood for wood turning. The trunk is about 10ft high and 9" wide.

Please let me know if the wood would be of use to anyone. Thank you.

HOLD A BLOOMING GREAT TEA PARTY

Marie Curie Cancer Care is asking people of North East Scotland to hold a Blooming Great Tea Party this summer. It can be as simple as a cuppa and cakes in the office, a vintage inspired tea party or even a larger ‘blooming great garden party’. It’s a great way to get together with friends and family to do something easy and fun for charity.

PLACES AVAILABLE - LEADING ARTISTS TO TEACH MASTERCLASS WORKSHOPS

See Art Events for full details.

Hospitalfield, the Angus centre of art and culture, has pulled off a significant coup in attracting two of Scotland’s leading female artists to contribute to the summer masterclass programme. Students signing up for the residential classes at the historic centre in Arbroath will benefit from first hand tuition by two figures who have – in their different styles - made a real impact on contemporary art in Scotland – Joyce Cairns and Patricia Cain.

Joyce W Cairns RSA, RSW, a leading painter of her generation known for her dominant female figures, returns to Hospitalfield over two days to join artist Rebecca Westguard in delivering the Advanced Figure and Life Masterclass 8-12 August. Cairns, possibly best known for her “War Tourist” exhibition has shown extensively and her work is held in many public and private collections including Glasgow Gallery of Modern Art.

Track down an artist

"I'm actually trying to track down an artist and wondered if you had any ideas?!? long shot! I saw her paintings in the still life shop in Aberlour probably 2 years ago, a large painting of Ben Rinnes in bright vivid purples, greens and yellows. Any ideas as to who this could be or suggestions for similar artists to try? I live in Australia and would like something for our house as a wee reminder!"

Can anyone help...

Hello, I lived in England in the early 70s and acquired two 6" sq. painted tiles. One is of Woodsome Hall and the other is Wappy S??? Ainley Top, look lke water color, by someone named Kitchen. They are very nice and I can't seem to find out who the artist is as there is only one name on the tiles. I happened to see Michael Kitchen's name on your site, and I wondered if he or someone could help me.

Thank you. sunflower683 [at] juno [dot] com
